Default Any ideas to get weanling to eat something besides hay?

He refuses to eat pellets, grain, anything but hay! Even cookies or carrots! Any ideas how to get him to try some new forms of food?

LOL! It's a colt right? My colts have always prefered hay over grain. The fillies have always been piggies about grain. Mine start eating grain with their mamas. Find out what mama was fed and try that. My other suggestion is calf-manna. I've never known anything not to eat it.

Let him watch another horse stiff its face with grain, treats, whatever. That usually gets them curious enough to try it.

You might try mixing some chopped hay in with his grain. Mine love the chopped grass hay made by Lucerne Farms but chopped alfalfa might also get him interested.
