    That's awful.

I just googled this news story to find more info and found a site that put up pictures of the dead horses. I didn't want to see that!

I had a flashback, big time! Back in the day I took flying lessons out of Van Nuys airport, a very, very busy airport in the San Fernando Valley of southern California. One of our flight routes was to Agua Dulce, which had a small landing field at the time and my instructor cautioned me to fly no closer to a certain pilon, or we would be shot down by the inhabitant of the property! Can't make this stuff up! It was a hole-in-the-ground then!

What a sad story coming out of there today.

I'm trying to find out from a local friend whose place that was. It's awful, but apparently the pilot did "a good job not crashing in to a house". Guess that depends on perspective.

The report I have received is quite graphic. Don't think I will post the specifics, but two horses died immediately, one had to be put to sleep. Another is at a hospital right now. Not sure of the owner name, so will refrain until positive and owner is okay with public acknowledgement.

Tons of jingles for all involved!

I think I'll skip googling on that one. *shivers*

Condolences to the bereaved, human and equine, jingles for the surviving animal.

Hey, at least three and possibly four people died in that crash. Very sad that horses were killed. Nothing in comparison to the people who died.

A terrible crash and a terrible tragedy. Current word seems to be 3 people died, two of whom were confirmed to be on the plane. Not clear if the third person was on the ground or in the plane.

It seems likely that someone here will know the victims, human and/or equine. My deepest condolences.

    Why?
The horses did'nt choose to get hit by the plane. The people got in the plane knowing the potential risks. I fear I don't understand your logic. Humans do things that cause others harm, and it's horrible that the humans died?

I will add, that if the 3rd person whom died was on the ground-
    That was a terrible tragedy.

I feel sorry for the friends and families of anyone that was killed. It's tragic. Somebody lost a child, a brother or sister or some kids lost a parent.
No the horses didn't as for it and I feel very sad they were killed but no matter how much I love animals... it's not the same.

Wow - obviously you don't live by your signature quote. Yes, you have the right to diminish human life, but it sure doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.

My sympathies are with all who perished - very sad.

and no doubt they didnt expect that to happen either

no doubt the pilot was trying to miss the houses nearby and was aiming for a field or something maybe
shame real shame could have been ten times worse
if it had hit the houses locally

If you don't get it, then there is no reason at all for me to explain it to you.
