    Default Registering the Un-Registered

I have a 4yo Welsh pony mare and I was wondering how I would go about registering her if she isn't registered? I am not familiar with the Welsh registry and how difficult that may be.

I know with the JC, it costs $2K if the horse is over 2 + you have to jump through hoops.

    Anyone know? TIA.

To start with do you have proof of pedigree? Breeding certificate ..... If not both parents MUST have been dna'd to get full papers. If a stallion report was not filed then you may not be able to depending on muitiple reasons. Right now the WPCSA is doing an AMNESTY for late registries :
    REGISTRATION AMNESTY
TEMPORARY CHANGE IN FEES FOR OLDER PONIES/COBS/HALF-WELSH
For the time period of July 15 - November 15 POSTMARK DATE,
the cost for any Purebred or Half-Welsh registration over 24 Months of age will be $100.
Must be a current member to qualify.
Transfer of ownership fee will be $25 NO matter how many owners the animal has had.
Questions? Call the WPCSA office at 540-868-PONY (7669).

Thanks nobleponies. I think it may be more hassle than it's worth. Both her parents are in WI and I am in VA....who knows how long it may take me to get DNA from there.

If I were to breed my mare to a registered stallion, if I get a breeding certificate, can I DNA type the foal to get it registered?
