So, our year end awards banquet has a silent auction to benefit the scholarship fund. This year we thought it would be fun to have people sign up for aliases to bid with. It would also eliminate the "oh, she can afford EVERYTHING, so I am not going to bid against her" mentality!
I thought it would be very cool to do famous horses as the names. Since it was my idea to use horse names, it is now my job to compile a list, LOL. Now, I am going to need probably around 200 names. I am a bit overwhelmed.
I was thinking famous racehorses, show jumpers, hunters... anything that would be recognizable. Even movie or novel horses.
Was hoping someone could point me to an existing list, or that you all could help me compile one here!
Cute idea... but (since my 2nd job is doing the clerical side of charity auctions) that's kinda what bidder numbers are for!
Just thought I'd throw that out there in case the horse names became cumbersome. For example, if you are going to use ANY sort of auction software or an auction clerking company, I think it will be necessary to have a number for each bidder. If you are doing everything manually, go crazy!
