Where to find wide aluminum hand rake for arena?
Years ago, Tack in the Box carried a wide aluminum rake made especially for hand-raking an arena. Tack in the Box is no longer in business and when I search for arena rake I get sites for arena drags and 'arena hand rake' leads to articles on arena maintenance.
I am currently having my arena renovated -literally at this moment dozer guy is spreading the sand - and I would like to find one of these.
Anybody have a source? I like the aluminum because it makes it lighter.

I bought mine at the local racetrack tack shop. Are you near a track?
If not- I can call and find out where they order theirs from...

Landscape Rake?
Do you mean a landscape rake? Looks like what the previous poster linked to. That's what we have used for hand raking the arena (or at home, for paddocks). I think we bought ours for ~$50 at either Home Depot or Lowes.
Just found it on HD's website: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053

Yep, that's what I want. And how funny - I thought they were some exotic thing made JUST for riding arenas! lol!

Bought mine at Home Depot too. I use it in my indoor lunge arena and don't know how I ever lived without it. I think I paid $40 for it but that was about 5 years ago.

Many years ago, before I even owned a horse property but still spent many hours raking my horse's sand paddock, a barn friend gave me the BEST XMAS PRESENT EVER. An aluminum sand rake. With gold ribbon tied around the handle. People thought I was nuts to be so excited about it. I kept the gold ribbon on the rake until it was in tatters but the sight of it made me laugh. That rake moved from public barn to public barn, always doing a stellar job of raking my paddocks. It once temporarily disappeared and I nearly called the police! Fast forward to the present, when we own a horse property and I get to use that rake on many stalls. Last year we built a sand ring and for Xmas my husband gave me a second rake so I could leave one in the ring and the other in the barn. I was just as excited this time around!!!! He didn't put a gold ribbon on it, though.
