    Default Featherlite Trailer Mat Problems?

Has anyone had problems with the mats in their trailer? I have a 2007 Featherlite 4 horse gooseneck, bought it new in 2008.

The mats were good for that year - started curling in 2009. I thought some bedding just worked under, so at the end of the season I did my usual winter thing - stripped the shavings, pulled the mats and powerwashed.

I thought in 2010 it would be fine, after sitting empty and clean for 6 months. However, this year the curling is worse than ever. I checked fit and they are not too tight or buckling. I tried shipping without shavings... same problem.

Any advice? I am at my wit's end. I love the trailer, but the mats are awful!

    I know, I know!!! LOL

Knock on wood, the mats are my only issue with it in the 3 years I have owned it.

DH wants to do composite decking over the aluminum, or rhino liner, or something. Told him I had to research first as I am not wild about any of those ideas!

Did you try calling them? Maybe it is a known problem and they can do something to replace them. And if they don't know, maybe someone should tell them. Sounds like others have had the same problem.

Yeah, I don't care for those trailers at all. I like the 4Star/Elite/Eby type of builders, very rugged.
