Default Spin off: What Crosses do you love?

Ok.. spin off of the crosses that don't work.. what crosses do you like.. (pics if you want are very welcome)..

My favorites are Welaras and Anglo-Arabians. I also am a big fan of Quarabs (combines my two favourite breeds lol).

I like Arabs crossed with just about anything, and TBs crossed with just about anything.

Yes, this means I LOVE Anglos.

I also REALLY like TB/Connemaras and have seen some lovely Arab/Friesians (though I am generally ambivalent about the whole Friesian phenomenon).

    For direct 50:50 crosses then:

    Thoroughbred x Arab

    Thoroughbred x Connemara

    Thoroughbred x Irish Draft

    Welsh D x Connemara

    Irish Draft x Connemara

and in that order of preference.

Thomas, have you ever seen any Arabian x Connemara? I never have and I think that would really work.. not sure why i've never seen one. But not gonna go buy a Connemara just to test the theory either lol.

And Kementari, I agree Anglos are awesome!! (I love Arabs though, so i may be biased lol).

I did see a Fjord x Arab once, that didn't work though lol. otherwise, i think they cross with just about everything lol. So do TB's ofcourse (But i blame that on there arab roots hehe)

I've seen an anglo arab x connemara. Indeed I've had one!

But if I've seen an arab x connemara then I've not seen it knowingly.

No reason why that shouldn't be an excellent cross in my opinion though.

Fjord x Arab sounds like a bad decision to me.

I do disagree though when you say that t/b's or arabs cross with anything.

Indeed if you read my contribution on "worst crosses" I've said so there.

As a child I rode a Fjord x Arab and he was a wonderful little guy. It was actually a great cross (this time it worked out). He was like a bit heavier Arabian with the Fjord coloring and had the strangest, most beautifully colored gold eyes. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of him online since I was a child when I rode him.

We did everything with him and he excelled. He was brave and very game!

I have an arab/quarter horse, he won at Devon, beating out some big old WBs.

    I have a QH/WB. Talk about a power house.

Neither of these were bred by me but dang, both at 10 movers and athletic!

I have a TBxQH that is awesome. He just ended up a little on the small size. He is extremly atheltic/talented though and has a great honest personality.

I also have a TB/paintxPercheron. She is a 16.2 solid powerhouse and she is just awesome. Absolutly love this horses personality. She is quite the looker too....mostly due to her coloring, we can't go anywhere without a million compliments (which suprisingly gets old).

QHxArab cross has to be my fav!
TBxWelsh cross seems to work though I've not had the privilege of one's company.
TBxCon cross would seem to be a child's eventing must!

A friend has a fantastic little Arab x Andalusian, and what a sweet horse! I'd buy one like him in a heartbeat.

I have a Perch/Morgan cross that is wonderful. He has a very solid, willing attitude. A true joy to ride. He's only 15.3 and very refined (he was also one of twins....may account for his smaller size). Very good all around horse. If you ask him, he'll give it his best shot. I show him Training Level dressage and trail ride/hunter pace him. I'd buy another if I could find one in my area. Not an easy cross to find.

Prejudice to warmblood/tb/draft crosses. We have 4 that are 1/4 draft, 1/4 tb and 1/2 warmblood - we have one that is 1/8 draft -the perfect amount of draft to add bone and a great mind and our ideal.

I've seen many QH (or Paint) Arab crosses that I really liked.

Secondly there are some nice ASB/Draft crosses that I would love to own.
