Default 8 y/o TB Mare - HOME FOUND

8 y/o chestnut with half stripe, homebred TB mare, 16.2 (maybe closer to 16.3), good body, nice slopped back shoulder, uphill build, lovely mover. Has been shown Training 1 and Training 2 at small local schooling shows. Will make a lovely hunter as well as dressage or CT/cross country horse. Very sensitive mouth. Correctly started with dressage basics. W/T/C. Just started over jumps. Quite and a bit lazy at home. She has little show exposure and will need a very confident, skilled rider in that environment for a while. Because of her lack of show mileage she is not suited for a child's horse at this time. I think she'd make a younger JR/YR mount if you are working with a trainer and able to have the trainer show this mare for a while. Must be experienced owner and preferably riding with a trainer. Good manners. Clips, stands, ties, loads. Usually wears natural balance shoes on front. Currently barefoot due to limited money. She is being offered for a free lease (long term). We can discuss ownership after a suitable period of leasing. She needs turnout part of the day. Very sensitive and reactive to biting bugs. Please PM me. References required. They will be thoroughly checked. Pictures available. I can get a video if necessary.

    Bump. Jumping video now available.

    http://s929.photobucket.com/albums/a...rberrymeadows/

Videos are of a rider who has never been on this mare in a lesson. Rider's horse came up lame day of lesson so she asked to ride Sophie. Rider has not jumped in a while and is used to riding a horse that is barely 15H. Jumps are approximately 2'. I apologize for poor video quality. Videos were taken in short segments because most of us have dial up in this area.

I wish I had someone for her, she looks quite a nice mover and fairly tolerant.

    bump. bump. bump.

Took Sophie to an open show end of Jan. She was nervous but easily handled by an experienced rider. Placed in almost all classes. These classes were approximately 20-25 riders each.

She prefers going like a hunter than a dressage horse.

Her only flaw is that she gets nervous at a show and needs someone she knows (doesn't do well if the rider is a stranger) to ride her and give her confidence. Due to an injury (non-horse related) I am unable to do this for her at this time.

Bump. This mare really wants to be a hunter over fences. She has the movement, willingness, temperament, and form to make her a nice show horse. Unfortunately I can't jump any longer. I hate to see her sitting.

Sorry for my slow reply. Please keep in mind that this mare is green over fences and needs a very confident, experienced rider with experience training a green horse or someone working with a trainer. She also has a great deal of anxiety in the show environment which, hopefully, will be overcome with exposure and time. She will need a professional or very experienced, very calm, very mellow person in this situation.
