    Default 5 minutes per joint

When I used Surpass, I would spend about 5 minutes rubbing it in (quite vigorously) per joint. The areas I used it one were not clipped.

I think that people who say that Surpass doesn't work simply don't rub hard/long enough.

Since Votaren is a gel, it may absorb faster. I've never tried it, so I don't know. Basically, I would keep going until there is no residue left on your gloves.

Oh, sorry, I just realized you were wondering about how much to apply

I looked up the concentration of diclofenac in Voltaren, and it appears to be either the same, or a little higher (about 10% higher) than Surpass. So I would probably use the same amount as Surpass. I think it should be a 5-inch ribbon per joint?

Obviously, it's better to talk to your vet about it.
