I want to put zippers in my dressage boots, where should I send them? I would just let a local shoe shop do it, except that they have no idea what these boots are for, and if they make a mistake they might ruin them...
So if anyone has any recommendation, please!
Woody's of Wellington are the best!! Google Woody's of Wellington. Go to their website and you will find all the info. Then fill out the sizing form. Get a friend to help you measure correctly. send them off and in just a couple weeks you will have back perfectly installed zippers.
By giving them accurate measurements they can also do some additional customization if needed. I have a bigger calf but thin ankles. I hate the bunching I normally get at the ankle. Woody trimmed mine so they fit more appropriately at the ankle. Another person bought a nice pair of Cavallo boots from ebay thinking she could stretch out the calf enough for her....even having them professionally stretched didn't do it. Woody's put in her zipper and added a small gusset that made the boots just about perfect.
They have done 4 pairs for me and at least a dozen others in the barn....there probably is someone locally who could do them but we haven't found them, and who is going to be the first person to test them out?
