I love your new horse! What is his breeding? He's gorgeous!
He looks almost exactly like a gelding I imported about 10 years ago by Balzflug. So much, in fact, that I had to look up photos to see if it was the same horse!
All of my double bridles are from Jerry's Harness. http://www.jerrysharnessshop.com/ Most snaffle bridles, too. The leather is buttery soft, the dye is not waxy and does not come off, the hardware is top quality, and the craftsmanship is impeccable! My favorite reins are the Easy Grip with leather stoppers.
You can buy complete doubles. You can also buy all the parts separate and then add your own browband of a different brand. Or, you can buy a snaffle bridle, and then add a bradoon hangar. Jerry also makes beaded browbands: http://www.jerrysharnessshop.com/beadbands.html
Otto Schumacher makes nice bridles and lovely browbands. It was the first brand that popped into my mind when you mentioned the large padding and nice browbands. They're pricey but new ones can sometimes be found for less on eBay.
KL Select / Red Barn also does really nice bridles but if you want a really flashy browband you'd probably have to get that elsewhere.
I second Jerry's. I have a snaffle and a double, and will never go back to another maker. He does have some fancy browbands, or he'll give you a discount to make it without one if you have your own (what I did, I think it was $30 cheaper).
His work/leather/etc. is incomparable.
From now on, ponyfixer, i'll include foot note references.
