    Default Double Bridle

I need some help finding a double bridle.

I just bought a new horse, and am now in need of a double.

I'm looking for a bridle that has *great* quality leather, an extra large noseband, and lots of padding.

If anyone can recommend something, I would greatly appreciate the help!

Here are some pictures of my horse:

    Price isn't really an object.

PS. Brownie points for pretty browbands!

    Thank you!

Default Can't go wrong with Jerry's Harness Shop!

I love your new horse! What is his breeding? He's gorgeous!

He looks almost exactly like a gelding I imported about 10 years ago by Balzflug. So much, in fact, that I had to look up photos to see if it was the same horse!

All of my double bridles are from Jerry's Harness. Most snaffle bridles, too. The leather is buttery soft, the dye is not waxy and does not come off, the hardware is top quality, and the craftsmanship is impeccable! My favorite reins are the Easy Grip with leather stoppers.

You can buy complete doubles. You can also buy all the parts separate and then add your own browband of a different brand. Or, you can buy a snaffle bridle, and then add a bradoon hangar. Jerry also makes beaded browbands:

    in the woodwork....

I would recommend the Albion Double Bridle- from I believe it has all of the qualities that you want. Congratulations on your new horse.

BTW, Fantastic- my BWP gelding is out of a Balzflug mare!

Otto Schumacher makes nice bridles and lovely browbands. It was the first brand that popped into my mind when you mentioned the large padding and nice browbands. They're pricey but new ones can sometimes be found for less on eBay.

KL Select / Red Barn also does really nice bridles but if you want a really flashy browband you'd probably have to get that elsewhere.

Just Bridles can give you some other brand ideas as well.

I second Jerry's. I have a snaffle and a double, and will never go back to another maker. He does have some fancy browbands, or he'll give you a discount to make it without one if you have your own (what I did, I think it was $30 cheaper).

    His work/leather/etc. is incomparable.
From now on, ponyfixer, i'll include foot note references.

I have no idea on the double but go here for a browband: You can design your own if you want and she'll make it. She does fabulous work!

    Love your new pony!!!!
