Default Norcal - Mt Tam ride 1963

I grew up riding here 10 years later and it had already gotten pretty built up, but the Horsemen's Association still held a Trail Test and the arena was open for use by all.
Nostalgia for me, but an interesting contrast in how it was done "back in the day".

Thanks for posting this link. ALMOST before my time haha! Fun watching Susie Krusi I think it was put on makeup before the ride, and the guitar strumming girl in what may hav been a mohair sweater. Lots of cigarets too. I'm glad someone thought to save these films and make them available to us.

I love the little JRT hanging out on the hood of the car while it's driving

    What a treasure find!

This was from a 1963 NATRC-sanctioned ride. NATRC will be celebrating its 50 year anniversary next year.

I am a carded NATRC veterinary judge and just judged a ride this past weekend. Things have sure changed!

    Thanks so much for posting.

Ha! Cars were made of all steel back then and weighed 5,000 pounds so I guess they could handle it

    love the music!
