Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am thinking about breeding my TB mare to a hanoverian stallion (Romantic Star caught my eye) and my question is: Does my mare need to be inspected before she can be bred or just in order to register the foal? I would keep the foal for my own use, and I was told when I bought her years ago that she would pass Oldenburg inspections with no broblem, but I have heard Hanoverian inspections are more intense.
Romantic Star is approved with several registries. From his website...
Imported Elite License Class I Hanoverian Stallion, 17 hands
Approved: AHS, Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program, GOV, RPSI, ISR Old/NA
Nominated: International Hunter Futurity
You don't usually have to have them inspected to breed, but it would be a good idea to. Even though you are breeding to keep for yourself. Good Luck in your choice. I breed Tb Hanoverian crosses and love them!!!
