Wow, that poem gave me chills. Aristos will be missed, but to have lived happily and healthy up to the ripe old age of 28 and to have had such a peaceful passing....what more could we ask for? And we still have a number of his babies and grandbabies, whose recognizable good looks will comfort us for a long time.

he knew kindness and comfort and love...surely there is no sadness in that ? maybe for his people, of course...but not for him.

    Default RIP Aristos B

Sincere condolences extended to you. So sorry to hear about this. There will always be those horses who were with us for what seems too short a time and who we will never forget. They may be gone in body, but not in spirit and legacy; they're still here with us, just not physically. They're never really 'gone'.

    RIP Aristos B!

    Jackie,

So sorry to hear of your loss.

Without question, one of the hardest and yet best things we can do for our beloved horses is to let them go when it is their time. Really I think there is no greater love than that willingness "to take their pain away and make it our own."

May the memories of all the good times you shared with your magnificent Aristos B be a joy and a comfort to you always. How fortunate that you have his legacy surrounding you, so that you will still "see" him and enjoy all the wonderful qualities he has passed on to future generations!

He had a great long life and was a beautiful boy.
I thought often when I saw his stud ad that if I were to breed my mare, it would be to him.

He has a wonderful legacy, and will surely live on in his offspring, and theirs.
    Godspeed Aristos B.

Sincere condolences to all his people. As hard as it was, you were his comfort in the end. That's a gift.
