    Default state award mare

I have an imported oldenburg mare. At the advice of a friend I just "googled" her name - one of the surprise finds is a link back to her breeder and the fact that she is a "state award mare".

Does anyone know what this means?

Disclaimer: My mom told me that people might look at my name and think I had an addiction other than horses. I don't; his name was Bravado.

Thanks for the link. I do understand States premium, elite mare....I was wondering what specifically "state award mare" meant? Is it equivalant to elite mare candidate? (I do know that my mare has not had a foal)
