I volunteer for a horse adoption program called Sunshine Horses (primarily working with standardbreds off the track), and we were fortunate enough to be the featured organization at the Lorenzo Driving Competition, an annual event in Cazenovia, NY. While manning our silent auction tables, I snuck away a few times to snap some pictures. The world of driving is pretty new to me, so I was intrigued! The coolest class was the ride & drive (pics pg. 4-6 of the album), in which the same horse was driven, unhitched (probably the incorrect term, oops… like I said, very new world to me!) and tacked up in the arena, and then ridden. The most interesting part of it was that some went western, some saddleseat, and some huntseat--all in the same class. I would think it would be difficult to judge such a diverse class.
Just thought I'd share some pictures of the competition and the beautiful horses that were there!
