Default What would this stallion be worth in your estimation???

6 year old TB stallion, over 16hh, flashy and attractive with lots of chrome, well bred (he sold for upper 3 figure dollar value at Keeneland as a yearling), he was hurt as a 2 year old in training and never raced. Is in a VERY small regional program now in the middle of nowhere. I mean really and truly nowhere ...

Stands for a stud fee of $1000.00 and he got 7 mares bred to him the first year and 6 the next year - most of those mares owned by the SO

His oldest are 2 year olds this year. None have made it to the track yet

They have a price tag on him that I find quite high

What *should* he sell for ?

    That's 6 figures.

Stallions that did not race and have no kids out there winning are not worth that much. I would say less than 10k at this point in his life/career.

Probably more as a well trained gelding at this point.

    3 figures -- like what, $900? LOL

I think it entirely depends on what he looks/moves/produces like. You know the whole "a picture is worth a thousand words" thing!

As a racehorse stallion practically nothing. He makes an income of $7,000 a year....IF the advertised stud fee is paid and those mares didn't just come in for free or $250. Costs that to keep him.
