Hey, pony folks. Today PJ (the pony orphan we rescued when he was a wee baby) officially started his ground training in the ring. He's 2 1/2 and is learning to lightly lunge, voice commands and will start ground driving.
So I go and try to fit the "pony" sized (from Dover) surcingle I have and it's WAY too big. Sorry a folded up towel is not going to cut it to take up space. I know it will be too big for Hiccup too.
Has anyone used the Surcingles from Just for Ponies? Were they more True to size than just "pony".
He currently stands 13.3ish at the hip. Although he's a heinz57 kind of guy (Mama, a draft cross was a nursemare how died at a breeding farm, and who knows who was the sperm donor on this one), he's actually built very uphill, big movement etc.
I think if I can find one to fit him, it will also fit Hiccup. I plan on breaking out both to drive.
LaSalle harness in RI --- sorry can not provide link computer idiot here ~ they will be able to tell you the measurements of their surcingles and even make you one if they don't have it BUT I bet they have one that fits both of your ponies... David LaSalle.
