Default PLEASE vote for a woman for the KWPN Stallion Committee

As some of you may know there has never been a woman on the KWPN Stallion Selection Committee.
Several years ago there was a vacant spot on the committte and a woman received most votes from the public, but the committee refused to take her because of her gender. She was rejected.

We have now again a vacant spot on the committee and the KWPN has opened the possibility for the public to vote. You do *not* need to be a member of the KWPN or the KWPN-NA to vote. Just send an e-mail to karlas@kwpn.nl with your suggestion.

I would like to ask everyone to vote for Karin Retera. She is extremely qualified for the job. She has been a mare inspector for the KWPN for many years. She is also dressage judge and recently finished her Grand Prix juding course at the top of her class. She has judged international pony and young rider competitions as well as Dutch National Championships for young rider and pony riders.
She has also been a judge for the finals of the PAVO Cup as well as Stallion Competition Finals multiple times. She has done nearly everything when it comes to judging.
As a rider she was in the selection for Barcelona Olympics but sold her horse beforehand to be able to buy her first farm. She then turned her attention to breeding and training young horses. She has trained over 50 horses to Pirx St. Georges and 5 horses to Grand Prix. With this incredible depth of experience she really knows what it takes for a horse to get to FEI. She has now been breeding horses for decades.
She is a trainer, instructor, KWPN and dressage judge and also has qualifications in equine physical therapy. She brings in experience from all aspects of the equine industry. Her depth of experience and ability to see talent are truly incredible. She is able to see beyond flash and select horses with true ability for the highest levels of dressage.

Please send your votes to karlas@kwpn.nl
A brief explanation of why you think Karin Retera is a good choice would be a nice addition.

That's hilarious. Talk about insecure males!

Freud would have a field day.

Can you imagine being in that position. Very sad, but true.

Here is a translated text from www.paardenfokken.nl - it appears on the voting page:
    (online translator)
The departure of Sjak Laarakkers from the KWPN dressage stallion inspection committee, creates a vacancy. Www.horsetelex.nl and the editors of "The Sport Horse" to prevent the KWPN-board re-appoint someone with no experience or affinity with the breeders. Moreover, we believe that a woman now sometimes priority would be given if at least they have the appropriate qualifications. But what about you? Do you agree with us that the new member of the HK-commission a talent scout for young horses should be , which passes through a horse could look and these relationships can be established between the origin and performance of young horses? Let us know. Give the name of the person you have in mind and explain why this person as you consider appropriate.

I would also like to add that Karin Retera is a very independent thinker and is not afraid to go against the mainstream. She is the kind of person who would not give in to political pressures. Please vote, it only takes a minute.

I think he was appointed in 2006
    I found this:

    http://www.eurodressage.com/equestri...mmittee-member

It looks like he wants to breed an approved stallion himself so there was a conflict of interest. This spring he had 2 of his own stallions in the test so someone else had to take his place.
