Default Phillipine Racing/Miss Abby Kat -- DEAD

Does anyone know anyone affiliated with TB racing there? I can't find any recent info on Miss Abby Kat and am concerned.

Anyone that could help with Miss Abby Kat?

    Anybody with Phillipine contacts?

I remember your thread from before and how you almost bought this horse but then donated money to help another - found it here:

Can you maybe try to contact the person who is posting the racing videos on Youtube? Perhaps they have connections.

I'm guessing you were not able to connect with the people who bought her at the sale last year.

I connected with the Bloodstock Agent but he didn't provide contact info for the new owners. But maybe I could contact Barretts. I did contact a woman who blogs the Philippino racing scene but she hasn't gotten back to me. And I checked the TB registry in the Philippines but she isn't listed. She had a good run last year.

Of course, what am I going to do anyhow? She is literally on the other side of the world.

Here is some news about her from last fall. http://jennyo.net/gogirlracing/?p=1163

I will try to see if I can track down some of those people.

I got this email from the farm who owned her. It was nice of them to respond.

    Hi Rebecca,

Thanks for the inquiry regarding Miss Abby Kat. She was a fine race horse, we planned to breed her after she retires from racing. However she had an accident during one of her workouts, she broke her leg and we had to put her to sleep. Its really sad. How did you get to know her?

    Merci

I am sorry. Much better she passed this way than the way many race horses die in this country. Godspeed.

I am so sorry. I recall the long thread when she went through the auction. You wanted her because she reminded you so much of one of your former mares, correct? And you did make a substantial donation in her name to a school program. As sad as it is, you do have closure and won't be wondering/worrying about her fate. Godspeed Miss Abby Kat.

I am sorry for your news and your loss.

It seems she was well cared for and admired by her current owner/trainer. You can feel their pain in the note they sent you. Thank you for sharing it.

    I'm so sorry

At least they got back to you, but not at all the end one hopes to hear about when it comes to a horse they follow.

I'm so very sorry. At least you have closure, though, it isn't the kind you hoped to have.
