    Default Hunter/Jumper Barns near Boston

Hey folks. I'm going to be moving to the Boston area at the end of July, and am looking for a place to board my Thoroughbred. I'd prefer a hunter/jumper barn with an indoor, but any place with good care is OK with me. Any suggestions? I honestly can't say yet what part of the area I'll be in, but I'd like someplace to the west of the city, or out in nearby towns. I've got next to no connections there, so all suggestions are welcome.

There's two main highways that go west out of the City Route 2 and 90. 90 is faster, but it's a toll road.

How far west of the city do you think you'll be? There's some nice places about 40 miles west that are a bit cheaper.

    Check out www.ajumpaboveeq.com

Do you have any towns here that you're interested in?

There's also equinesite.com which has a directory of many of the barns in MA.

Lots of great barns south of town with indoors...
    River Wind in Pembroke
Herring Brook Farm in Pembroke ** where my guy is.
    Holly Hill Farm in Hanover
Fieldstone Farm - Jen Tate trainer in Plymouth

Strongly suggest you go, tour the faciltities, watch lessons, meet the instructors and other boarders. I would also make the drive out when you would be regularly going to the barn to scope out the traffic.

Thanks for the recommendations. We're leaning towards being close to Worcester right now, and anything sort of vaguely between Worcester and Boston would be nice. I've been slowly working my way through the (massive) list of barns on equinesite and filtering based on location, but it's nice to have first-hand experiences!
I'll be out there soon to check out places in person as well.

If your thinking near Worcester, Mapleleaf Stables in Jefferson is GREAT; not sure if they have any available stalls, but lovely facility great care and with all that prob the most affordable place you'll find in the area with an indoor.
Beaver Brook Stables in Holliston MA is also a nice HJ facility

Tricia is another great person- very patient and can really ride.

You have such a great opportunity to ride with great people..take your time to find the right fit. A smaller barn may be better- I just don't know much about the Worcester area.
