This weekend was DelMarVa Regions first ever in a long time Pony Club Tetrathlon Rally. Both of my sons' competed. My oldest came in second overall in the Intermediate Boy Division and qualified for championships. My youngest competed in the 10 and under boy division and also came in second overall. Now I'm proud of my oldest son but I wasn't too worried about him. My youngest however, it was his first pc rally (with the exception of Quiz rally), first time taking his leased pony off the property, and the first time for him to ride in the open (let alone jump) all by himself. Before he went in the ring I told him to take his time and if he has to then bring his pony to a walk and then trot when he is ready - he asked me "but what if I want to canter?" I just smiled and told him "if that's what your feeling when you get out there then go for it". And that he did . He rocked that course!! Now he idolizes Philip Dutton and when he came out he asked "Did I ride like Philip Dutton?" How could I say no .
