I have an 8-year-old Thoroughbred off the track that I am currently retraining to as a hunter/jumper and possibly a low-level eventer. He has a small bone chip in his right front ankle that is outside the joint and does not limit his ability or affect his soundness. However, I would like to protect the ankle with a closed-front boot just to be safe. It seems like boots that are closed around the ankle are kind of hard to find. Do you have any suggestions for a decent boot that would serve this purpose?
Have you looked at the woof boots? or the nunn finer versions? they make a 'club' brushing boot that wraps all the way around. It has some conture to the outside, but it's meant to overlap where the velcro is on the outside. They arent terrbily expensive and they clean up well.
