Hawaii: Kapaia - Sixteen emaciated and dehydrated horses were rescued by the Kauai Humane Society from Keapana Horsemanship, says the society's executive director, Rebecca Rhoades. Lara Butler-Brady, the owner of the horses, was charged with 16 counts of second-degree cruelty to animals. It's the largest horse cruelty case in the state in recent times, Rhoades said.
