What a handsome pair of boys - so glad they arrived safe and sound. May they have long and successful careers in honor of Elene.

and Prudence - that beaver didn't look to bright......poor thing.

    Beautiful boys.

We all wish Elene could be here to meet them but they gave her hope so maybe that is not so bad.

I feel the same way. They gave her something to plan ahead for, and look forward to, I just wish she was there to see them.

Though I'm sure it will be a tough time for Elene's family, I wish them all the best for Christmas and New Year's.

It's already been one year since we lost Elène. She has not been forgotten and once in a while, some of us get the surprise of an update on FB, from her husband... about the horses.

Today's update is rather sad. Her husband is lonely, is looking after the horses, but he has had health problems and needs to sell horses and farm. Domingo is for sale... he spoils the horses but he does not ride. You can really feel the sadness in his post and the loneliness.

I hope you are resting well Elène and know many still think of you!

I can't believe it has been a year. In some ways it feels like yesterday and in others it feels like forever. I think selling the farm and horses is a good thing but I can understand why that would be difficult as that is his tie to her. Jingles for the perfect buyer for all.

Agree that it seems like yesterday and at the same time, forever. I also think of Elene! I am also still her friend on Facebook and saw her husband"s post. I understand how he feels and hope he finds peace and good health in his journey!

Anyone hear from the rider that Elene' bought the youngsters for? Maybe she could spend some horse time with Elene's widower. Friendships help so much.

His facebook post was really heartbreaking. Zu Zu, I can't say it any better than you did above.

I found it interesting that the translation says he "repatriated" the foals to Germany. That was probably a good solution, however it worked out.

I also had an uneasy feeling about how he mentioned the two foals. He sounded as he found a very good family for one (the companion), but it sounded as if he could not do anything about the other one since Elène gave him away.

"You always guided me in all my decisions. I will let you be the judge regarding the other foal you gave away. Your wishes were respected and I have nothing to add."

I am friends on FB with Roberta but I have not seen anything mentioned about Bhodi. There is a Cother who boards at her farm though... alibi... maybe she can tell us how he is doing.

That whole post by Yves was an expression of love and sadness.

I was thinking of her the other day and was hoping that this thread was in the favourites folder ( is it? ).

Nothing else to add other then hope the horses/foals land in loving homes.

    We miss you Elene!

I just went through my email account and found the link to this thread.
It is now already 2 years where Elaine waited for Bodhi to be born.
One of them is in the hands of the person Elaine choose for to get it Bodhi and the other one (mine) is in the hands of a family for their daughter as future horse. They train with the lady who has Bodhi and there are updates that we receive. I hope also for Elaine's husband that he was able to find homes for the other horses and that it was not too hard for him to part with all those rememberances.
