    Default Dear COTH...

We have a love hate relationship, and I'm no longer sure where I stand in all of this.

You have cost me, dearly. I'm beginning to think our relationship is dysfunctional, nay (neigh?), I strongly believe it to be abusive.

I don't know how much money I have spent because I read the endless hours of threads and have thus volunteered to donate, adopt, or contribute. I won't mention the things I've purchased from clicking on links either. My husband thinks "COTH" is a dirty word.

We've laughed and I've cried. My keyboard, monitor and underwear have been compromised on several occasions.

Although I've learn a new language- aghasted, jingles, fruitbats- people around me look puzzled when I speak. Your influence may have made me a bit of an oddball?

I'm fairly certain my job would be in jeopardy if they ever run a report on internet usage.

Anyway, I think you should know we should probably not see each other for a little while.

Okay, maybe after I just click on 'New Posts' again to see if I've missed something.

    Love,
    SuperSTB

Ah...here is a way around it. You do outreach for a 501(c)3. Then you are "being visible" and "helping your groups."

Of course, then you also end up with a case of Uncle Jimmy's squeezy buns in your office and you cannot take them to the barn for your horse.

What would I do without CotH on these dreaded graveyard shifts?

For the few weeks I was without WiFi, I even figured out Google Reader.

Do you KNOW how hard it is to only be able to read the top post and not the replies? To NOT BE ABLE TO REPLY????

    Torture.

I too find myself wanting to use 'aghasted' in common language... *they* just don't get the humour behind it, and that I KNOW it's wrong.

I have several non-CotH friends who get and now use "loff."

I may not know what "bff" stands for (???) but I usually know where the fruitbat *IS*, and what a helmet nazi is...

I am aghast that you do not realize that the correct non-word is "aghasted." OMGiH.

    Default I'll play!

I can't believe I've been a member of this board for 10 years now.

I know that "love" is pronounced "loff", some horses talk with a German accent, and hanging balls take on a whole new meaning when you add molasses. We have a cat herder, a crayola posse, and a Group W Bench, non of which my DH understands~ when I mention COTH his eyes glaze over.

I've been an enabler & enabled, laughed, cried, watched a little boy receive a life-saving liver, and learned that there is still good in the world.

I've fed the trolls, even though I'm not supposed to, and have learned to be more tolerant of some posters that can be annoying. I'm probably in that category as well.

I've gone through major withdrawals when the board has been down, especially when there's a good thread going. I've seen members come and go, & some have sadly passed on. I've shared in the loss of other's beloved animals, have experienced it myself and been able to grieve here among those who understand and "get" it.

Thanks, COTH, for being you. And thanks even more for being here for me.

I have forsaken my relationships with other equine BB's to spend my alloted time here on COTH instead. The laughter and the tears are all good medicine.
