No, because I read Ausiello Files, so I always know when a major plot point is going to happen. I didn't know WHO it was happening to, but it made sense to me that this particular character would be the one. Underutilized, a good actor, but never really fit in the show the way the others did. Plot lines were emotional but forced. The actor is better suited to a show directed at a slightly different age bracket.

Just put "spoiler" in the thread title.
I don't really watch it unless I stay up that late after Grey's Anatomy. But I did watch the first few minutes last week...someone die? The daughter end up paralyzed?

Dell dies at the end :-(

It was so sad watching him explain to his daughter that he was possibly going to die.

Me either! I was L I V I D. He was my favorite! I yelled "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" so loud I made hubby's timid dog pee a little (sorry Paxton)
Michael: Seems the people who burned me want me for a job.
Sam: A job? Does it pay?
Michael: Nah, it's more of a "we'll kill you if you don't do it" type of thing.
Sam: Oh. I've never liked those.

Dell is the surfer guy receptionist? What did he die from? I don't watch it often...was he sick?
That is surprising...usually when they advertise season cliffhangers and say someone will die...it's almost always someone either completely unknown on one single episode or someone they brought in a few episodes earlier.
I don't watch much TV but I do catch Grey's, Desperate Housewives and DWTS this time of year. (Rescue Me in summer) I thought the death in Private Practice would be the baby probably...they pulled something similar with Housewives but I already figured oout the death was going to be that Patrick guy. Although it was pretty funny how they killed him..but now bummed that Drea DeMateo won't be on anymore.

No he had a brain bleed resulting from a car accident while taking pregnant and in labor Maya ( Naomi's daughter) to the hospital.

His wife died at the end of last season and so it was so sad to watch him explain to his daughter that all of the bad things that could possibly happen to a kid just happed all at the same time in her life.

Was not pleased AT ALL! He was my second favorite to Sam, so I was very bummed that they took him off. I was equally as annoyed when they killed off George on Grey's, and I am guessing that I will not be thrilled with whomever dies this year.

He and the daughter were in a car accident, everyone was worried about her being paralzyed or losing the baby. Dell had some scraps and cuts but seemed ok, then passed out. He had a brain bleed, and was aware going into surgery how bad it was. Very emotional talk with the little girl. Boo.

I wasn't really surprised that they killed him off. He didn't quite fit the age bracket and just seemed a weird fit with the rest of the cast. Was sad but wasn't a giant loss for the show.

Dell was not the receptionist! He was the Certified Nurse-Midwife. He'd also just gotten into UCLA Med School :*(

Oh you did a much better job explaining it than I did. I was struggling to remember everyone's names I couldn't remember Sam for the life of me...

Ohhh...I did see the beginning of the episode and knew they were in an accident. That is surprising then...not often when a show really throws a surprise in there. Usually you know ahead of time hearing someone is leaving a show...so you know they're going to kill the person off. Thank goodness it wasn't Sam...he's too handsome to kill off. Always liked him as an actor too.
Can anyone answer why Addison/Kate Walsh went from gorgeous and sexy looking in Grey's to house-wifey looking in PP? Her looks/style have changed a lot.

As for George in Grey's...hate to say it but I was disappointed they didn;t also kill Izzy off at the same time. Maybe I'm weird that way, but both were whiners on the show and annoyed me. Having George get flattened by a bus was odd as heck...and then they let Izzy live when she had a very deadly cancer with a 5% survival rate...that was stupid writing and not normal for Shonda Rhimes.(sp?)
I'm betting in Grey's they either don't bump someone off...just leave the hospital. The commercials said they lose someone, not someone dies. Betting Teddy leaves after what happened in the last episode. And Chandra Wilson is such a fantastic actress that her expression in the commercials when she's dragged out from under the bed is pretty awesome.

    Ugg I hate Izzy.

Didn't Dell start out as the receptionist?

I too was shocked because I hadn't seen any teasers about someone dying on TV in advacnce.
