    Default Frabjus Day!!!

    1) Dressage late enough that I can braid in the morning.
    2) Cross country BEFORE stadium, as God intended.
    3) Showjumping OUTDOORS! (Let's just say that in the past Gully and I have been highly challenged by the coliseum.)

I'll have to bring a gift for Penny. What do you suppose she likes? Flowers? Wine?

Hope to see many of you there! Hubby and I will be stadium warm-up stewards Friday afternoon for the I divisions, then starting Phase A at 7:30am Saturday morning, then will be back in stadium warm-up Saturday 1:00- 7:40pm or so; then Sunday morning at 7:30am for the duration. Sorry we will miss all the training stadium rides, as you will be outside. Please stop by and say HI anyway!!! Hoping and praying for a good, safe show that is fun for all!

Wow, thinking about driving up Saturday morning too. Don't have to be in the ring until almost 2 pm saturday! Nice!

Will have to check out the tavern! I have gotten SO lost up there trying to find places to eat....

Looks like all training is doing XC first and stadium outside. I'm so bummed I don't get to ride in the coliseum. That's my favorite part of the event!

I've never done XC before stadium on my OTTB, so that will be interesting.

Hey, so i have a question about the VA HT/overnight HT on general. what do you all normally do in terms of locking up equipment.this is my first overnight and was wondering if people leave locked tack trunks w/ equipment in barns/ do you keep hay/feed on the trailer and just haul it up when its time to feed? do you lock your tack up in trailers? is tack theft all that prevalent at events?
    Thanks!

I usually leave feed and a bale of hay in front of the stall, any extra hay in the trailer. I plan on locking my trailer dressing room door this time because I finally found the key , but i've also just kept everything in my car and driven it around...and I've left it in my trailer unlocked and not had any trouble. I don't know if theft has ever been an issue at the horse center, but I've never had trouble (knock on wood) Some people do leave small tack trunks in the barn, but unless you get a tack stall things get crowded rather easily (I bring saddle stand/saddles/bridles etc down in the morning, take back up at night).

I want to go watch someone ride, but am not sure of the times. If these are the ride times, can I assume the stadium round is 7:18 PM, not AM?

I think it's funny that you can see the stabling request.. it's like a "who's dating/training with who" of eventing and also how many people want end stalls!

I'm riding my little guys first horse trial and he gets to experience the coliseum in the evening on Saturday for Beginner Novice. Should be interesting.

TimelyImpulse - yes, your stadium is PM on Saturday, as we don't start stadium on Saturday until about 1PM. Hubby and I actually get to watch some prelim X/C after we start Phase A!!

I'm HOPING to be there. Q is dealing with an abscess that we hope will be resolved before then Also, momma still hasn't foaled so I might not be able to get away. We're at 353 today and vet has thought she would foal 99.9% sure the last two nights. She just won't let go!

Anyway, I really hope to make it as it is my favorite event and I can't wait to see everyone!!!!!
