Default What kind of semen extender was used Gribaldi frozen semen?

Anybody know what type of semen extender was used with the Gribaldi frozen semen? I purchased a large amount of his frozen semen a few years back. My Vet wants to try something with it but we need to know what kind of extender was used.

Is frozen semen from Gribaldi for sale anywhere? Has the frozen semen resulted in any foals?

I have always heard it was not at all reliable. "Basically crap" is how one breeder's repro vet termed it.

I have never heard of any pregnancy from the semen that was frozen in Holland, and I believe the horse died shortly after he was sent to Schockemoehle's.

My mare Unique was conceived on frozen semen in Canada. She was born in 2001, and the mare was only open 2 months between pregnancies....so I assume frozen from that time period must have been decent...or they were very lucky.

I'm realize how rare it is to have a North American born Gribaldi and feel very fortunate. Maybe that is why they called her Unique

    She knows she is special...LOL.

Good luck with your breeding. If this is the stuff is known crap with virtually no pregnancies maybe you can negotiate with the agent you bought it from to swap it for something else.
