Default Color experts, whaddya think? ( or what color will my foal grow up to be?)

This is a one day old TB filly out of a grey mare by a chestnut stallion.
We have a lot of experience with grey horses around our place but haven't had one born like this. Our greys are usually born solid with rings around their eyes and mouth etc.

This filly's head is really like a solid chestnut - but none of the rings etc we notice on ours that grey. You can see what her body looks like! Never had a grey born like this.

Could she be a Rabicano? That would be nice... grey is kind of getting common at our place!

    That's cute!
According to the breeder of my TB gelding he was actually chestnut like that when he was born, then he roaned some, and finally grayed out as a two year old.

yep, looks like she's graying through the roaning process right away. Do you have a picture of just born but dried off?

That is pretty much it "just born dried off" as you can get. That was taken this am about 9 and she was born between midnight and 6 am. Was dry at 6 am, wasn't there at midnight.

I have a coming 3 yr-old whose father was gray and mother chestnut. This is her as a baby. She has been the most funky colored horse her whole life. Finally as she is beginning to shed this spring, I am seeing graying at the back of her ears and a few other places. Not much in this pic to indicate she would eventually go gray.

I'm betting she'll eventually be grey too but you're right, the body roaning is unusual. Keep watching for goggles!
