The link doesn't work. Item won't show up because you already bought it.

You're taking a big risk, buying a saddle after only seeing a picture of it. Hopefully the cheap price doesn't mean a poor quality saddle.

    Peace Out!

    the link does work.

i dont have one, but they look decent. Argentinian saddles are notorious for being of poor quality, so I can't really say.

But for the price, it looks balanced, so its probably not a bad deal even if the leather is kinda icky.

I've had my eye on this company for a few weeks now. A new trend is for foreign horse tack makers to enter the US market through Ebay. The ebay company does import exports (rugs and antiques) and also sells items from this saddler. I think that argentine saddles have increased in quality over the years, now the indian saddles are at the bottom of the rung.

This company has excellent looking leather, good marketing, and lots and lots of really good quality pictures. It appears to come directly from the saddle maker, so you may have language problems if you need to talk to the saddler himself, but I like that it isn't first imported, marked up, then sold.

I believe that after this company is established (if their products live up to the pictures and their claim) their prices will go up.

Please update this thread when your saddle arrives, as I've been oggling their girths but am not as gutsy as you.

Ok, my "research" has told me that this ebayer has at least 2 saddlers under its belt.
The "st. lourdes saddlery" which claims to be run by the original creator of the pessoa, and the "argentinia saddle company", they also sell "rossi caruso" saddles.

yes, please tell us if you enjoy this saddle, let us know the quality of the leather!
does it break in easily, and how was the fit for you and your horse?
I have been eying this company as well for quite awhile, I need a good schooling saddle and sometimes I wanted to take the plunge, but got cold feet http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif- good luck!

Yeah you know, I was thinking about their girths too. I have been a walking zombie for the past 2 weeks after this bit with Erin. Can someone tell me what size I need? They have it all in cm for measure. Devon has a 44 girth right now, that seems to be ok. I got it off eBay as well. It is a gel one, but I can't clip draw reins to it unless I rig something up. Girth has no "Dee" rings.

If you need to attatch draw reins, buy a leather "loop" at your tack store. They have dee rings attached to them. Here's a picture off the Dover website:
    Detachable Girth Loop

To use it, attach one side of the girth to the saddle as you normally would. Come around to the other side of the horse and grab the girth under the horse's belly as you normally would. Before putting the girth onto the billets, slide the leather "loop" onto the girth and finish tacking up. Make sure the loop is between the front legs where it would normally be http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif

I have something sim. to that. I keep forgettting about it when I untack, and the other day I found it hanging on Devon door. I forgot..again...about it and luckily someone picked it up and knew it was mine, and returned it.

I was wondering about the girths now, along with the saddle. Anyone?

Multiply the english girth size by 2.5.
    ie 44x2.5=110cm

I *think* I am actually getting somewhere on these applications...but then again I may be lying to myself.

I've eyed them too . . . but I'm reluctant to buy a saddle that isn't flocked with wool. These do not appear to be.

Eager to find out how you like it.

I can hardly wait myself. I am probably just going to orde a girth from Dover for now. I had bid on 3 different ones, but have already been out-bid.

I went to their site as well, and I am thinking I may just order direct. I did do a little research. Their prices have been increasing due to popularity. I checked there feedback and spoke to a number of people that bought their bridles and girths, and leathers. Everyone loves them. I spoke to a woman that bought a saddle a month ago, but has only ridden in it 8 times. She really didn't say much about it. Or maybe I should say nothing NEg. about it.

    Update:

There was a hold up in customs. For some reason customs held up MY saddle, and MY saddle only even though there were 10 others EXACTLY like mine being sent. You'd think with how bad my luck is, this wouldn't surprise me so much. http://chronicleforums.com/images/cu...milies/cry.gif

They are going to send me another tracking number for my saddle, but they say I should still get it the same day. We'll see
