It only counts if the purple tones don't match, right?

True, Geek, but I think that ANYTHING purple would make the typical DQ twitch. Sady the pic does not show the sequined alligator not the purple rhinestones across the brow band and nose band of the bridle.

I LOVE purple! Actually lavender is my favorite shade, but for a mare I free leased I got a nice purple nylon halter with black felt padding! She was a very red shade of bay and it clashed horribly, but I didn't care, I like purple!!! I also had a denim blue lead rope to go with that halter When I got my first Jeep I actually wanted the purple one!

I indirectly called someone a DQ on the Dressage board earlier, lol... that really got their panties in a knot, well, I really didn't call anyone that directly, they just took it that way... I much prefer the WTD crowd, a sense of humor is a very good thing!

I know I have a picture of that mare in the halter making a really ugly face at the camera I should find it.

By definition, I think you're either a DQ or a WTDer. No grey here. Except for Aunt Esther, who transcends all categories.

I have finally dug up some pictures, I though I'd have more that were WTD worthy but I am just not a big picture person.

Mare making grumpy face at me in a light purple halter that is crooked
    http://community.webshots.com/photo/...92892389gSpfLP
She had a constant attitude of "what the hell do you want!"

In the next picture the horse is a sabino (with bright blue eyes with eyeliner) 1/2 TWH 1/4 Ay-rab 1/4 Saddlebred with a neck that is as long as his big head.
How's that for ya! I am wearing a helmet but if it counts the brim is cracked and the tape on the back that covers some styrofoam looking stuff has peeled off. Tack: cheap western saddle with pad borrowed from a friend (leather doesn't match on pad), brown hunter bridle with missing noseband and a cheapo tractor supply ($3) loose ring bit that is shaped funky. Take note of highwaters and some mud...

    Walk off while mounting...

Recovering from a dropped shoulder/bad barrel racing style turn in the corner, I am hanging on and leaning into the turn Notice lack of bend in the horse and evasion of bit.

Actually not really WTD, although my face says "oh god" because I"m hanging on and a turn is coming up Toes also gracefully pointed out to the side.

In some of the pictures you can see dressage letters tied to the arena fence that is dry rotted and falling down in places. That was a true WTD barn.

I half leased him for a while, if he had a longer neck and was not so thick in the throatlatch I would have kept on leasing him and begged his owner to sell him to me. He wouldn't have been too bad for dressage if you just fixed his neck.. He had a puppy dog personality and I eventually got him to go long and low and accept contact and finally go in a frame. That was one of the first couple times I rode him, it's a shame I didn't get any pictures of the reaaaaly scary turns, he completely dropped the inside shoulder to turn, no bending to speak of. The turns were very sudden with him...

Well, it was just insinuated that the $500-to-look lady was the founder of WTD. And also that WTDers are not desirable. This makes me full of great sadness. (see $500 to look thread)

Horse Poor, I feel your pain!

NO ONE can come close to the fine equestrian founder of White Trash Dressage!

As another WTD participant, I salute you!

As for us WTDers not being desirable...pfffftttt! That's a remark only made by those who make NO mistakes when they ride! I think they may be intimidated by our extreme classiness, no?

Hmmmm.... can I play too? Is this WT enough? Are my boots the right color? Is he properly turned out? How about our tack, is it the right color? Are my thighs thin enough? Is he behind the diagonal horizontal triangle?

I do at least have a professional photographer.....

Or how about my "other" horse - gotta have two, right? My instructor does have a funny accent. Perhaps this is more appropriately called LLWTD (Lead Line White Trash Dressage)

Obviously this comment was made by a Q of DQs!! Perhaps her magical gypsy vanner cannot do geranimals and is allergic to purple and co-mingled english/western tack?? And unless this poster is wonder woman DQ, she is no match for all the posters on this thread who are aspiring WTDers. We will smother her in clashing purple fuzzy horse apparel!!!

Twas entertaining to visit that accident scene though - viewed some long overdue commupences!

    Wink

I think I qualify for WTD...
The barn owner was hauling me and my horse to a recognized show. Truck broke down on the highway. Fortunately a friend stopped by. A plumber. So me and my horse were hauled into DQ-Land by a plumbing truck!

    Cool

I saw a woman warming up in a t-shirt with the sewn in white color - instead of the regular show shirts.
