fun 'slide show' of CWER's rescue herd
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLlA2S0uIpI
Our newest addition, Blixa, an 8 year old oldenburger gelding, got turned out with the whole herd, in the big pasture, for the first time recently. I shot a few hundred photos. This youtube clip is a 'slideshow' of my favorites. I thought this group might enjoy seeing them...
Blixa is the center focus of many of the shots, but so are many of our others in the herd. and its a fun view of about 1/4 of the 35 acre main pasture, and how helpful that terrain is in gaining fitness...
hope you enjoy!

The photos were shot last week -- the weather was REALLY nasty here yesterday (tornado warnings over something like 18 counties!). Blixa and the herd were all having SUCH fun together!
Thanks, Kooki! We really LOVE working with the drafts, it's our best nitch. These 2 mares are terrific -- the dark bay has had her first ride (video also on youtube!); the red roan MIGHT be becoming our newest ambassador, as she's just so much like Tessa our primary ambassador and really seems to have the right temperament for that role here.
Blixa has really settled in well. I can't wait until I can get him under saddle...and then get him on to a great new career....

Kooki -- can you find someone local with a well trained riding draft for him to try??? esp if he's a bigger rider, you may find he is heaven as soon as he straddles a horse that 'feels right for his own build'. He may just never look back!! we got started with drafts b/c mike is a big build and was also overweight at the time. there's nothing quite like riding a draft!!!
