Default Started building the chicken coop!

Thanks to whomever it was who referred me over to backyard chickens web sight. I got so many great ideas from them (including using the linolium flooring!)

Looks like a great start! Building a coop is on my list as my little Buff Orpingtons are growing like weeds! I have a chicken tractor for them to live in for awhile but I will need a coop done before they are ready to lay! lol

Yes - my liitle peeps are a couple of weeks old now and they started to jump out of the deep utility room sink. I would come in and find them standing on the side of the sink! That was my clue to HURRY UP! It rained all day Sunday - wo we did not get anymore done then...but DH and I are both off early tomorrow...so hopefully we will get the walls up - or at least the framing for the walls! Then I can do more all by myself.

Will post more pics when I get more done. I am really determined to make it look nice enough...so that I do not want to hide it!

BYC is the COTH of poultry

I think my favorite coop pictured there is an old car - I think it was in England.
How cute would that be "parked" in your yard?

Ahh, this makes me wish I had chickens again. I loved those silly little things. I also was a BYC addict, I was one of the original members on the first site. I will admit that I enjoyed it more as a small community but I am happy to see that the backyard chooks are becoming more popular. I think I still have my incubator lying around somewhere....be careful breeding/showing chickens can be addicting.

I have a chicken palace instead of a chicken coop, but I still want an Ark or Chicken Tractor. There are so many good ideas out there.

I too used the fast framing kit as well as linoleum where they would be nesting for easy cleanup. Looks good!

Mine has stall mats, chicken related antiques, and a porch with railings. Yours will probably have fancy light fixtures and curtains
