In 2007, Angel, an ex-racehorse, was found emaciated in a feedlot and set for slaughter when a Good Samaritan took her home and later donated her to Friends of Ferdinand, Inc., a thoroughbred rescue facility in Indiana. Thanks to a support grant from Brennan Equine Welfare Fund, Angel will now live out her years in a foster home with a wonderful family, a small herd, and 20 acres of rolling pastures.
Brennan Equine Welfare Fund, which provides moneys to qualifying equine rescue, retraining, rehabilitation and retirement facilities, celebrates 10 years of helping horses like Angel and invites the public to make a $10 tax-deductible donation so that no equine would be neglected or headed for a feedlot, with slaughter as the final destination.
Why Donate to Brennan Equine Welfare Fund for the 10 year anniversary?
-Your donation is fully tax-deductible! Brennan Equine Welfare Fund (BEWF) is a 501(c)(3) set up through the Greater Cincinnati Foundation's 501(c)(3), so any gift you make will be acknowledged by The Foundation with a confirmation for your taxes (except for those donations paid online through Network For Good, will provide its own documentation.)
-And, don't forget...your donations will be matched dollar-to-dollar through December 31, 2009
-You can be assured that all funds go directly to the horses! This can include funds for feed, veterinarian and farrier expenses, farm maintenance, fencing, medical supplies (wormers, first-aid) and many other expenses.
-Strict qualifying criteria is set up for rescue/rehabilitaiton/retirement facilities that request and receive grants from Brennan Equine Welfare Fund. This assures that the best interest and welfare of the benefiting horses are the top priority and that they will be provided for with dignity until the end of their natural lives, with no chance of any further neglect, abuse, abandonment or chance of being sent to slaughter.
-Linda Pavey, Donor/Account Advisor and Founder of Brennan Equine Welfare Fund, frequently visits the facilities that have applied for or received grants from BEWF. This assures that all grants are going to organizations which meet the strict criteria of the best interest of the horses, and allows the benefits from past grants to be seen in person.
A great gift in memory or honor of someone special or that special horse.
