I recall a guy in Middleburg who was caught several times buggering ponies...he got a short sentence and then, since his family had money and were old Middleburgers, he was welcomed back into the fold....creepy guy.

Looks like he lost no time between being released from prison and starting right up again. Someone posted concerns here a few weeks back about Spink's former farm manager and long-time business associate launching a nonprofit horse rescue "to help at risk kids" in western Oregon close to where Spink served part or all of his time. As I recall the person who expressed concern about a possible ongoing connection, esp. where kids might be involved (and remember part of Whatcom County's first investigation of Spink also involved alleged kiddie porn, according to 2010 news reports) was pretty much verbally crucified by what appeared to be either belligerent argument-addicts or maybe even actual Spink supporters. So not nice.
Hopefully he'll go straight back to the graybar hotel for a long stay. Just hate to think of taxpayer dollars supporting his visit. Maybe the gene pool will be saved by a well-placed kick by an outraged horse.

Even with three felony animal cruelty charges pending, Spink is now and probably will stay a free man. These are state charges that have never resulted in any serious time for any defendant, yet. The hope is that a judge will manage the sentencing to limit or eliminate Spink's potential to ever own another animal. The feds might be able to use this new set of charges to re-jail him as a parole violator but I think we have run the course of that process. The point of all this is to force society to deal with this very gross form of human/animal relationship.

I went back and re-read the thread - she was not "crucified" in the least. If she got any kickback it was for not providing any details when no one could find anything online based upon her vague descriptions. I believe it got several eyebrows up and then never turned into a trainwreck. But if that's being "crucified" you haven't been on COTH long enough, LOL

Julia Dalek - this matter has had long and convoulted threads, news links, etc. over the years, but you have come on here specifically to post about DS.
Can you tell us what your specific interest is in this %$#@ -merely for our knowledge. Are you in the courts or do you have a personal connection somewhere? It seems the rest of the board is of no interest to you, so I was curious.
