    Default Introduction

    Hi Everyone-

I've been reading/lurking here for awhile, sometimes posting. Figured I'd introduce myself...

I live in the Colorado Springs area and have been riding classical dressage for about 7 years now. Previously I rode on the APHA circuit in both western and hunt seat events.

I have a 7 yr old ASB gelding who I've been riding a little over a year. I purchased him this past November and am beyond excited to finally be back in the ranks of horse ownership. We're making our debut (if you can call it that) in Training Level this year and I look forward to moving up the levels with my fantastic partner.

In "real life" I work for a medical device company as an Engineer. I also enjoy running and occasionally compete in 5k runs.

It's been a pleasure reading this forum and I look forward to participating more!

A couple pictures for good measure:

    Thanks everyone!

Sabine- I find him to be very trainable. He has a great work ethic and is very willing. He's always willing to give me his best and then some.

Whicker- Am I an even better person if we're family?!? Lol

WSQHGal- That is one of my favorite pictures of us. That was right before I bought him from my trainer.

Thank you all for the welcomes. I'm more of a reader and poster but I'll spout my 0.02 every now and then.

Cute ASB!! My very, very first horse was an ASB. Similar marking too--he was liver chestnut with 3 high stockings and a star/strip.
We developed quite a partnership and he taught me a lot. Welcome!

whicker- you are too nice...making me turn all red at work

And I think she is pretty awesome but I am biased

She forgot to mention she jumps a little too...

And looks really silly on my 14.2 horse, but obviously has a sense of humor in order to show that 14.2 hand horse in his very first dressage show ever when he was only 24 unfortunately I don't have the photographic evidence of it handy but it was entertaining.

Oh goodness I've shown Vanya in hunters too. I have no shame...

We did score in the mid 60's in Dressage though. He's never too old to try something new.

I have plenty of gawd awful photographic evidence of me riding ponies. When you're a poor college student you ride whatever you can get your hands on.

I'll have to find some pics of me on Vanya though... He's a little smaller than this pony I think. Regardless I look way more ridiculous on him.

    Countrygal,
When I first looked at your adorable horse, I thought you had wrapped his legs in dressage white wraps for the occasion. Then I realized he CAME that way!

He must really be an extravagant mover at the trot with all the white in the right places on his legs. Just add a little stardust glitter sparkles, and he will be blinding!

Myvanya, you do pick family well...

I'd like to think he was born to be my dressage mount, but then again I'm pretty biased.

His whites really do accentuate his movement well IMHO. I have a lovely video of the two of us but it's trapped in DVD form. If I ever figure out how to get it on a computer I'll share it here.

We're competing at our first show on Sunday. Hopefully I'll have some good pics to share
