Wink UPDATE: RunForIt no longer has a halo...

15 weeks, 4 days ago, on December 26th, I went out to do trot sets on my little guy Rasta...some 40 minutes later, after he got spooked by some kids waving flags in a golf cart driving towards us, I was on the ground, then walking back to the house, with a C2 vertabra fracture...and have spent all this time in a halo brace. I just found out this weekend, I was on the critical list for 5 days...

I came out of the halo today...I am so lucky to have had so many of my COTH friends like retreadeventer and CookiePony, eventer_mi and KarenC, as well as blackwly, and annikak and everyone else out there who have taken the time to PM me every week...I do not know how others have gotten through times like this, but I do know how much all of you have helped me do it.

Rasta is entered at Full Gallop in May - wonderful Lellie Ward in the irons. I take over in September.

    I love you all
~ it no longer matters what level I do, as long as I am doing it..~ with many thanks, to Elizabeth Callahan

Congrats, congrats, free at last and all that. You must be one happy camper. Again, hugs to your super hubby. IIRC, he saved you. Tell him we all really appreciate that.

    Yeah for you!

yay, yay, YAY!!! I'm so excited for you! Take it easy, don't overdo it, and if you feel at all nervous, back off to a point where you feel comfortable. You'll be back where you were in no time at all.

You didn't, by chance, take my saddle out on trial, did you? It's listed at fine-used-saddles.com. I noticed today it was gone .

Wahoooooooooo! Good job. What a long and scary time.
I am so pleased for you. Good healing and as eventer_mi said, do not push yourself too hard. Stay in your own comfort zone. It may be different than it used to be but no worries, you'll be back! Congratulations.

It's very inspirational to hear this story; wishing you speedy healing with no complications, and hope to read a post on the board that confirms that you are back in the saddle by your "proposed date"
