    god, there are so many
Lake Pacid...water skiing on the lake and chez henry
that bar in vermont - puddle jumpers??? is that the right name? and yes being swamped out in VT when the heavy rain came ...i had just bought a new trunk and it floated right away - had a very unhappy mom! regardless i will always remember the feeling of riding around in the early mornings with the mist burning off and these big mountains around you
Manchester - doing the luge thing and the shopping in burlington
Saratoga and Shadowbrook - always rained at both and my horses always freaked out about the oompa loompa band at saratoga
the garden - i only got one year before it moved to the meadowlands but nothing beat walking into that ring and as great as it was to make it to the meadowlands it just never had the same feeling
harrisburg - having a really bad "schooling" lesson the day before finals way out in the fields and jumping over one of those green highway road signs that read "exit #** to ** / exit here" and thinking to myself - how ironic!!
florida - there are just too many to count on that one
rock hard ground at ox ridge
the wonderful hunt courses at fairfield - i could never count there!
all in all there are just so many - it mad eme smile just typing all of this
and I second the question about what happened to seaweed???

I remember pumkin head streaker jumped the jumps but hadn't intended to...and the owner [Carol Hoffman?] commented as he exited the ring.."Shit! That horse didn't jump half that well all week"! Remember Joe Darby at the old MSG?...he rode up the first line in the Working Stake, night class, on one of Swanee's good horses and the lights went out for about 10 seconds...pitch black..the lights come up..Joey's in the center of the ring facing the linen draped judges stand and hollers up "Ah finished mah round, and it was PERFECT".

.....LMAO!...and of course you grabbed your Bible and fled the scene, justjilli http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_cool.gif I stayed..the only reason I got in the place was because Mr. Capote, God bless him, shrieked "Everybody behind me gets in!" at the door. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_cool.gif

We'd tell you...but then of course we'd have to kill you http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_cool.gif....Warhol never spoke a word throughout the entire MSG evening session or all through the night's festivities. Capote never shut up..until he passed out at least.

1989, at the tender age of 10, i went to spectate at Devon with a group of girls from my barn. We were able to find Greg Best and followed him around until he signed all of our tickets. He was so nice... and i don't know if this is a made up part of the memory or not, but i think he and Gem Twist won the Grand Prix that night.

You guys are getting me going again on this one....Jill,I just heard that Robert FINALLY married...I don't know who though...I worked for him for about 3 years, took care of Benoit...which of course is how I met Dagwood,as Mark was riding another horse in our barn...
    Just One Date,Jill??

    RaceTB(did I get that right?)
I am SURE we either Know each other or have worked in the same circles....
    I didn't work at the old Garden,But i worked MSG from 77 to 88
Yes,I also remember standing and Guarding my horses on 33rd st. from the freaks and fairies of N.Y....
You probably know an old friend of mine...Jimmy Plummer...one of the Island Gang...
Remember "Rock Bottom"...Michael Hunter & Carl Knee??
Now for a Bonus Grob Jump..

    RaceTb,
You might have competed with an old friend of mine, who is no longer with us..Linda Matrayek and her horse,Wishmaster,Unfortunately,I was at the barn the day she passed,so sad.....or do you remember Izzy Kelly??
How about Joy Slater and Isle of Erin...I took care of that mare at Tewksbury Farms...Great Hunter...Working and Side Saddle...The Schers' owned her then
I spent my childhood being a Barn Rat in exchange for lessons with Clarence Nagro,Walter White,"Dave"...Sullivan Davis...You Know...Anywhere that I could Muck a hundred stalls, unload a truckload of hay,or even help bail a field of hay,for a chance of riding for 30 minutes!!!! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif

Jeez!! Plummer, Clarence Negro...I think Izzy was a great friend of Sean Mulcahey, who rode for "Big Tony" D'Ambrosio in Mt. Kisco, I still see Sean all the time..and John Linden..I rode at Sam Edelman's and spent most days schlepping horses back and forth from Carl's..and I rode with Joy at Gladstone after the USET screening trials..She brought Coach Stop and I forget what other horse. Most of my time hanging with Michael Hunter, Maud Frank completing the wild trio..is a vague blur http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_cool.gif The restaurant name eludes me..but I'll remember!! Keep 'em coming! Remember..Gay Wiles?? Sonny Brooks??..Benny's "boys"?? arrrrgh!
