    Default Electrolytes?

My pony will not drink away from home at an event. And yep, I take home water with us and even his own bucket, still nothing.

Any rec's on an electrolyte that can be given, not of the daily variety but on demand, like the day before and day of an event?

There's a discussion about electrolytes going on over in Endurance/Trailriding, check it out.

If your horse does not drink, be careful with electrolytes. The horse needs to be hydrated to make them work. They are supposed to replace lost electrolytes after a hard workout, I wouldn't give them just to make the horse thirsty as you are suggesting.

There were some other threads about teaching your horse how to drink away from home, using flavored water and so on. Hopefully those will come up when you do a search.

Agreed with Lieselotte- electrolytes should only be given if the horse is drinking well.

I know some endurance riders have had a lot of success with this product - I saw one horse who was not a good drinker suck down the whole bucket:
