I can't believe people are so grossed out/upset by this! How many of us women have experienced the misery of having our period while we show? I was amazed by the amount of negativity/ignorance on this thread. The Divacup is something I learned about years ago through a (gasp!) feminist publication I read.
I don't/can't use a cup myself because of various medical reasons, but they really are a great idea - it's CHEAPER, better for the environment, healthier then tampons, etc. I can see how the idea could be a little off putting at first but then again my housemates in college (who had no problem with the idea of diva cups) were AMAZED that I cleaned my geldings sheath, so to each their own I guess.
(and on that note, I just bought my first one, because I'm on the "only 4 periods per year" plan and it's silly to have to buy so many darned supplies for a grand total of 12 days. Plus I like the health aspect of it...)
Have YOU ever looked into the eyes of a rich white child who has just lost a jumping competition?
Wow, a lot of "oldies but goodies" threads reviving lately!
I tried the Diva cup but it was not all that comfortable, unfortunately. Not enough for me to decide to switch over altogether. No way could I ride in it, even after trimming the "tail" all the way down to nothing. What the heck do I do with it now?
But I have found a better solution--endometrial ablation, woohoo! Not for everyone, of course...you have to be done having babies, but WOW, it was a breeze, no actual surgery or loss of body parts and NO MORE PERIODS!
