Default Does anyone have a Mikmar they're not using right now?

Hi! I hate to even ask but these bits are so expensive that I would really like to try one out before buying. My horse is currently going xc in a Mullen mouth Pelham so I think a Mikmar might work.
Does anyone have one lying around that I could try and send back? Obviously I would pay postage and even a rental fee if you want. I promise to return it in the same condition.
I will also be at Spring Bay next weekend if anyone will be there.
I'm mostly interested in the combination bit but some of the others might work too-the gag/elevator types.
I've loaned bits before to other COTHers and it worked great.
    Thanks!
    Helen

I can vouch for Helen being a reliable bit exchanger!

I believe that pelham she's using used to be Bonnie's.

Hey, see you at Spring Bay next weekend! I don't have a Mikmar, but have you tried the Myler combination bits? LOVE them.

Thanks dw! I haven't tried any combo bit yet, mostly because of the cost. The pelham is still working but he started overreacting to the chain some this week. I wrapped it in sealtex which seems to be working so far.
I'm excited/nervous/excited for Spring Bay. This weather has not helped us to get as ready as I would have liked. Can't wait to see you and the new ride!

I have a Mikmar combo that you are welcome to try , I do not need it any more and if it works will sell it too!
I used to have a horse that I could not stop out hunting and this worked wonderfully , he was happy and I was very happy to have brakes !
PM me your address and I will pop it in the mail.

I used to use one on my gelding who was also hard to stop or slow down for that matter. It worked great for him but he has a very small mouth and it was too much for him. He went from my easy to bridle guy to head in the air teeth clamped shut. I felt so awful I quit using it. He's a western horse and switched to a Myler swivel shank curb with the comfort mouth. He's a happy boy again.
