Due to recent circumstances with my demanding career, I'm looking to place my 16 y/o ApHCC/ApSHA mare in a free-lease (long term or short term).
She's well-mannered, and super easy for vet/farrier. Very quiet, and can be handled by children. Excellent stall manners, and no major health problems (manageable arthritis due to an old injury in hind leg- is pasture sound). Does not need shoes. No riding homes, please. Worming/vaccinations/farrier all UTD. Bathes, easy with fly spray, ties/cross-ties safely.
I've owned her for 12 years and she would be absolutely perfect as a babysitter for young horses or weanlings- she's had two foals of her own and is a doting, tolerant mare who instills manners without being rough. Both have been fillies with 100% Appaloosa characteristics. Both are lovely and are definite, athletic sport horse prospects with sweet temperaments and correct conformation.
Does best in small groups (1-3 other horses) and needs blankets during extreme winter weather. She's rather wimpy about the cold . Fine being out 24/7, but does enjoy having a stall during hot summer months.
