My mare has been on and off lame for weeks now. Complete vet workups have shown us nothing out of the ordinary. She was at first lame in the front hoof. BO says she has a habit of kicking at the stall door as other horses walk by. We did nerve blocks and her pain was isolated to the hoof but it has since resolved.
Now, she has some swelling on her hind leg. She's not dead lame on it but does favor it. She had a non-displaced fracture there years ago caused by stall kicking that was treated and improved on 8 months stall rest.
She's 16 years old and is pretty much a pasture pet. The last time I rode her was in November. I'd like to do some light W/T with her this summer but I'm thinking it's time for supplements to try to reduce her inflammation and prevent any ouchies.
There is so much choice, I just don't know where to start. Can anyone make a recommendation based on your experience?
