RERUN TO HOST RETIRED RACEHORSE RETRAINING PROJECT IN MAY

Helmetta, NJ - ReRun, the 501(c)(3) Thoroughbred adoption program, will be hosting a seminar and riding clinic with Steuart Pittman at the Horse Park of New Jersey on May 15th and 16th. Saturday afternoon will feature a demonstration by Mr. Pittman using selected off-the-track Thoroughbreds, and will show different stages in their training from right off the track to beginning a new career. Following at 5 o’clock will be a reception and meal featuring guest speakers, including jockeys and veterinarians, who will talk about their experiences working on the racetrack.

Sunday the 16th will be the riding clinic with Steuart Pittman from 8am to 4pm. Individual flat work and group jumping lessons will be offered at $65 and $80 a piece. ReRun encourages people to bring their Thoroughbreds of all training levels, as the lessons will be adjusted accordingly.

Steuart Pittman is a prominent event rider and owner of Dodon Farm in Davidsonville, MD. “We would love to make this an annual event”, said newly elected president of ReRun, Jane Gilbert. “It is a very unique clinic specific to ex-racehorses and will raise much needed funds for ReRun’s adoption program.” For more information or to buy tickets for the event, please visit www.rerun.org.
