Default Ready for new show coat-what color?

I am not sure if I should stick with navy color or move on to another color. I am thinking about a windowpane pattern in navy but I am open to suggestion.

If you're only going to have one coat, stick with navy. It's timeless and you'll never look out of place. Also, if you dabble in the equitation ring at all you'll want the navy.

I want to keep the "old" one as a spare so I would technically have two. However I want to get a few more fresh show shirts. Ideas on coordinating the two would be super. If you have photos even better.

Stick with navy. It's classic and stylish. Also, any color show shirt works with navy.

For show shirts- you should always have a white one. I personally like white on white patterns. For the others, what color is your horse?

As much as I like navy, I am very partial to those beautiful charcoal grey coats, especially the window pane plaids.

In that case, go nuts I have a light grey coat and wear lavender and light blue shirts with it. With the navy coat I wear a patterned white on white shirt. I may or may not have my eye on a tan grand prix :whistles: I'm thinking a pale yellow would look nice with it, and would also pair well with the navy.

The pale blue shirt would look even better than yellow with the tan GP IMO but maybe that's because I am not a fan of yellow shirts at all. I also like a very pale lavendar with tan.

I have a navy jacket and a dark grey one. The navy has a subtle windowpane type pattern that you can't see until you're close, and the grey(more like a charcoal) also has a subtle windowpane pattern. I think you can't go wrong with navy, but a grey coat on certain horses can look wonderful! What color is your horse?

I wore a brown coat and yellow shirt at a show a week and a half ago.

But, I also wore a navy coar with a dark purple shirt under it that weekend too.

Here is another coat I wear it is a Grand Prix paired with a bright mango shirt for a Halloween show
    http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q...choGenisis.jpg

I have 6 hunt coats and probably 10 or 15 shirts to choose from. My coat line up includes:
Grand Prix lighter grey with light blue window paining,
RJ Classics charcoal grey with navy and maroon pinstriping,
RJ Classins navy (in pics) with deep purple window paining,
RJ Classics brown (in pics) with pinstriping.
Grand Prix olive/brown hard to describe color (in pics)
Pickeur olive/brown hard to describe color but lighter than the GP

For the hunters have fun with it.

I love Carl Hester's new tailcoat - check out the gray in the photo at the bottom here: http://horseandcountry.tv/node/21709

Very smart but not sure everyone could pull off that colour!

I'm a coat and shirt addict so usually have a lot of choices.

I will say that I try to wear a contrasting coat color from my horse's color in the hack so I'll stand out a bit. Both my horses are brown with minimal white so I need all the help I can get. I usually wear a light gray coat on the hack day with a lavender shirt.

A nice navy coat will forever be my favorite. But if you are looking for something different, I also LOVE a nice rich brown coat. Almost any shirt color can go under brown!

i'm going to go out on a limb and say that i LOVE the black windowpane coats that were in vogue for a brief flash of time recently. probably not the most fashionable thing at the moment, but i think they're incredibly classy looking. i want one when it comes time for me to get a new coat, i don't really care if they aren't in fashion anymore!
