    Default Australian equivalent of USDF?

Is there a national dressage association in AU? Will be living there for a year starting the end of this year or the beginning of next, and would like to keep myself updated on the dressage happenings there!

I believe you want to start here: http://www.equestrian.org.au/

There are many regional and local clubs, but I believe that the national organization takes care of everything on a national and international level (I could be wrong!) unlike the US where we have the USEF for international and national rules, but the education and other aspects are handled by a secondary national organization, the USDF.

Are you moving to Sydney? Melbourne? Or up north? Just curious!

With Tim? Your "local" dressage federation will be Dressage NSW, which holds competitions at Clarendon, about 1 1/2 hours south of Yarramalong. These are the most hotly contested official comps, aside from the CDI. Various other dressage clubs hold official and associate competitions. There are quite a few up near Tim's - you could probably go to a dressage competition almost every weekend! DNSW is the main administrator, and looks after judge training etc.

there is also Illawarra Dressage (at SIEC), Alexander Park Dressage (Raymond Terrace), Northside Riding Club at St Ives, Galston Equestrian Club (Galston) - all these hold competitions.

Although I'd love to go to a dressage competition every weekend, I'm sure Tim will keep me busy! He was highly recommended to me, and I'm very much looking forward to meeting and working with him!

Thank you for all the links, I'm going to bookmark them and try to keep up with the dressage comings and goings of the area.
