Default A Mexican Sidesaddle "Quadrille" - Escaramuza

Check out the move about 1 minute into the video - WOW!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escaramuza

Escaramuza is an equestrienne display of choreographed patterns that was established as the tenth official event of charreada in 1992. The event consists of teams of six to twelve horsewomen who ride sidesaddle dressed in lacy, full skirts that suggest the aristocratic nineteenth century Mexican women who were only allowed to ride during particular fiestas and processions.

    Thumbs up

Very cool! As a pretty new sidesaddle rider, I am suitably impressed.

My youtube isn't very good but it looked as if some of the riders were too liberal with the whip and hard on the horses mouth.

Mike, I love your video links. But I have to ask (tongue in cheek, of course), do you spend all day surfing YouTube?

    Thanks for sharing!

I can just imagine my two geldings trying this...."Mayday! Crash course detected! Abort! Abort!"

(they'd then jettison the rider and retreat )
    You jump in the saddle,
    Hold onto the bridle!
    Jump in the line!

    Thanks for posting that.

Now I've got something else for my bucket list!

Wonder if I could find some other local fools to try this with...
