Default where do get the vest/frock w/ colors

I thought I was just stupid until some of the others asked me where to get our new vests with our hunt colors.

we do have a place locally that will custom make it, but they charge through the nose and I have had some friends that have not liked the quality.

Any suggestions how I can get coats and vest with the correct collar and piping, etc?

just curious if there are good places to contact.

You have them applied by a local tailor/seamstress. Your secretary may have the correct fabric. You might also ask him/her who supplies the correct buttons.
So - who do you hunt with ?

I was lucky as our hunt secretary had the fabric to give to people who had colors. One of the other members is a fabulous seamstress and she sewed it on my collar. This was a hunt coat though so I decided I wanted a Frock coat.

I ordered mine with a nice tattersall lining and the colors with matching vest from Alexander James.

It is a beautiful coat and is very warm even though I didn't get the heaviest weight of wool.

They come to Rolex every year. That's a good place to try the sizes and get measured. Or you can contact them on line.

The exhange rate is pretty good right now with the pound so its a good time to buy.

Horse Country in Warrenton, VA has lovely, good quality, but often pricey, coats vests, etc. I know Town and Country Tack Shop here in Tallahassee also has Hunt apparrel at much less cost.......plus there are various places on line.

I have some fabric for you for your collar of your coat. Email me if you want it. I don't have vest material though.

If you tell them what color you are looking for Alexander James will send you fabric swatches. I did that for the robins egg blue for my Collar and Vest. They made a beautiful vest for me and it was half the price of Horse Country.

Another good source is Bookster. One of our other members got a Red Frock coat made by them. They have beautiful tweed fabrics. They take about a month longer than Alexander James although I think they might be a little cheaper. They also do custom waistcoats.
