I figure since there are SO may members on here that between all 9000 or so of us we probably know the answer to almost every horse-related question there is.

    Or do we?

Don't be ashamed if you dont know something that to others seems painfully obvious, such as my question...

when wrapping polos that have a small symbol or something (such as a canadian flag) how do you manage to end the wrap with the symbol in the exact right spot (centered on the outside of the leg)without re-doing it 5 or 6 times? Is there a trick?? Nearly drove me insane the other day.

You KNOW there is at least one thing you are embarassed for not knowing, and here's your chance to get it out!!

Okay...not a "stupid question" per se...but a stupid moment I seem to have repeatedly... http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...n_rolleyes.gif

Anyone else consistently refer to "chestnuts' as "acorns"? http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_razz.gif

Umm ... I can't think of a stupid horse question at the moment, but I do have a stupid COTH question ... what do you have to do to get people to respond to your posts? http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...n_confused.gif
Maybe I'm too nice ... maybe I should start being nastier and more controversial http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_wink.gif

It's a BB question. What does RCII mean?

Don't know about RCII, but IIRC means "If I Recall Correctly"

Well, the way that I do polos so that it ends up the same for me, is as follows: I start on the midpoint of the leg, and wrap down. I will have a total of 5 turns every time to get to the bottom of the fetlock...and then I will wrap back up, and it will end up right, no matter the size of the horse. But the key for me is exactly 5 turns.

I have such a hard time with that sort of thing. It took me FOREVER to figure out what SO stood for..and don't even get me started on all the possibilities I came up with for BNT.
(Those do mean significant other and Big Name Trainer....right?)

Are you kidding? I own the stupid question list. I've asked quite a few...most recently, over in Horse Care, I asked what a topline was (although I could guess).

The list of what I don't know covers some very basic stuff for many COTH folk. I just keep asking and hope someday I won't sound like a reader of Horses for Dummies anymore. (ANd I'm not kidding--I have the book!)

I used to think the world was against me. Now I know better...some of the smaller countries are neutral.

lol scuttle, yes, they do mean big name trainer and significant other http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_wink.gif

thanks X, I will try that - I usually average 4 wraps down 4 wraps up and close...but it never seems to work for those "special" polos. http://chronicleforums.com/images/cu...ilies/sigh.gif

I ask dumb questions all the time at the barn, once I say them out loud, I realize, it is true, I am an idiot! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...n_rolleyes.gif

So this is my question. A PT is a private topic? Does every member on here have one!? And how do you check em?!

    Thanks! ---Jewels

    Here's a stupid question...

Okay, so we live in an imperfect world. If we HAVE to put a horse up without having him thoroughly dried off, which parts are the most important to concentrate on? Which parts are less important?

I hope this made sense, as I went out to dinner tonight and the red wine has definitely kicked in! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_wink.gif

DH is a new one I've seen recently, and I haven't been able to figure it out either!

Yes, a PT is a private topic. If you click on the MySpace tab up near the top of the page, and then on "private topics," that's where you'll find them. You can also sign up for email notifications so that you'll get an email whenever you get a PT. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif
